Dear Lord
Please look after all the people in your church throughout the world,
especially those who live in areas where it is hard to be a Christian.
We thank you for all those who spend their lives helping others to find you.

There are lots of places in this world where people do not feel safe.
Please help us to make the world peaceful,
and help everyone without a safe home to find a safe place to live.

Dear Lord,
Hear my prayer,
Guard and keep me while I sleep,
Safe from fears, safe from pains,
Bless my loved ones,
Strengthen the weak,
Feed the hungry,
Heal the sick
and enrich the poor,
Help me to enact your will,
and bring peace between people and nations.
Lord in your mercy,

Father,
We remember times of war and conflict,
We remember those who have left us,
Keep those thoughts with us,
Keep close the love that you give to each and every one of us,
Heal those who are sick and strengthen those who are weak,
Help those who are trying to keep peace in the world and,
Help those who are trying to find the peace.
Lord in your mercy,
Hear our prayer.

Let us pray for the peace of the world:
for statesmen and rulers,
that they may have wisdom to know and courage to do what is right.
for all who work to improve international relationships,
that they may find the true way to reconcile people of different race, colour, and creed.
and for men and women the world over, that they may have justice and freedom,
and live in security and peace.

In this time of elections, we give you thanks O Lord for the freedom we have to elect our nations leadership. In a world where there are many dictators we thank you for those who have fought in previous years to ensure that we do have choice. We pray for all those putting themselves forward for election. We pray for the gifts of integrity and truth among all candidates, help us to discern O Lord your will for our nation. (RJ, Belfast:2010)
