Dear Lord, we thank you for all your people who have risked and sacrificed much to provide us with all the benefits and comforts of our modern life. Help us to encourage our young people to follow their examples and to build on their legacies so that future generations may enjoy continued progress, whether that be in healthcare; transportation; manufacturing; food production or any other of the multitude of fields of fruitful endeavour available to them.

We pray for our communities in Britain at this time, especially for those communities in England that have suffered in the violence of the last week. We ask you to embolden your people in those communities to be beacons of hope, compassion and strength and by their lives be examples of your Son, Jesus Christ, so drawing others to you, our only hope in this world. We pray for our leaders, nationally and locally, for the Police and the Emergency Services, that in spite of bureaucracy and lack of resources, they would be strong in leadership, just, honest and consistent in all they do to serve their communities.

Father God,
Hear our prayer.

Lord, we pray that you are able to provide solace and inspiration to
those who feel detached from you at this moment. Those who feel that
you may not be present in their daily lives, or find it difficult to
turn their thoughts towards to you. We pray that they are able to once
again experience your ever present and glorifying nature and realise
that you had never left them, but were always there waiting.

We thank you, Lord, for providing us the time and space to live and
breathe both physically and spiritually. We thank you for your
patience and grace for all those who feel spiritual crisis in their
lives. Most of all, we thank you for being beside us at all times;
whether we recognise this or not.

Lord, in your mercy,
Hear our prayer.

God said to them, ‘See, I have given you every plant yielding seed, you shall have them for food. And to everything that has the breath of life, I have given every green plant for food.’

Lord, we thank you for the food that you have provided us with. We ask that you help farmers and local shops to continue thriving through these difficult times.

Lord, in your mercy,
Hear our prayer.

And God said, ‘Let there be lights in the dome of the sky to separate the day from the night.’ God made the sun, the moon and the stars.

Lord, we thank you for the sun, moon and stars, for the warmth and light that they give to us. We ask that you help us to see the full beauty of nature and the entire universe that you gave us.

Lord, in your mercy,
Hear our prayer.

And God said, ‘Let the waters under the sky be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear.’ Then God said, ‘Let the earth put forth vegetation: plants yielding seed, and fruit trees of every kind.’

Lord, we thank you for the land, sea and plants that make this world a beautiful place to live. We ask that you help those who work on the land and the sea, sometimes in the harshest of conditions.

Lord, in your mercy,
Hear our prayer.

Lord, we thank you for all those who spend their lives trying to make ours better – for those in public service, for the ‘Good Samaritans’, for those who devote themselves to charitable works and for all those who help others to find You.

In this time of elections, we give you thanks O Lord for the freedom we have to elect our nations leadership. In a world where there are many dictators we thank you for those who have fought in previous years to ensure that we do have choice. We pray for all those putting themselves forward for election. We pray for the gifts of integrity and truth among all candidates, help us to discern O Lord your will for our nation.
